Fuel economy numbers for the all-new 2017 Pacifica are in. Today, Chrysler issued a press release announcing that the minivan earned a highway fuel economy rating of 28 mpg. The number is an increase of 12 percent over the previous model, and is unsurpassed by any minivan on the market. Pacifica also achieves a combined EPA rating of 22 mpg, an increase of ten percent over the model it replaces.

In regards to Global Warming Potential (GWP) over 200,000 kilometers, Pacifica is nine percent greener than the previous model.

“The Pacifica isn’t just engineered for today,” says Mark Chernoby, Chief Operating Officer Product Development and Head of Product Portfolio Management for FCA’s Group Executive Council. “This vehicle is designed and crafted to enhance the lives of our customers for years to come. Total environmental impact is an important metric to consider as we introduce new fuel-efficient technologies."

In addition to the upgraded, award-winning Pentastar V-6 engine, other attributes that contribute to the Pacifica's efficiency are its nine-speed automatic transmission and best-in-class drag coefficient of .300. A hybrid model is expected in the second half of the year.
